viking axe
Good day everyone!

Got used to the taste of making viking axes the last time, and I couldn't stop myself to make a few more.
All are forged of 5160 and have full grind scandi edges.
Hope you will like these 3 little piggies :)
Please follow me on facebook:…

Each is 170 euro, with all fees included, paypal is welcome.

1. The length of the head is 19 cm, the edge is 13 cm long. The eye of the axe is 6.5x1.6 cm.
It weights 780 grams.

2. The length of the head is 19 cm, the edge is 12.5 cm long. The eye of the axe is 4.5x1.6 cm.
It weights 800 grams.

3. The length of the head is 15.5 cm, the edge is 11 cm long. The eye of the axe is 4.5x1.4 cm.
It weights 500 grams.
You surely know the awkward state between the dream and awakeness in the morning, when you are still part of both worlds but you aren't present neither of them really. The vivid dreams of the night are still very much alive, only in a different, alternative and more close perspective. You can almost reach out and touch whatever your mind nobly presents you with, often your most wanted, deepest secrets, but in the moment of contact the believed truth starts to tremble and shiver and in a fraction of a second fades away into oblivion, leaving you empty handed.
No matter, how hard you hang on to the last thread of sweet, sacred memory and try to reenter the realm of dreams, to live through the marvel just once more, the cruel wakefulness hinders your effort and anchors you to this inornate reality.

The tube pin in this freshly finished knife is stuffed with rock hard epoxi, and if you hold it against the sun, the unique structure of it transforms light, refract it into amber-like shades comparable to the contemplative half-awakened state of the morn.
Ironically my camera can not catch this, the very best part of the knife.

The total length is 24 cm. the blade is 12 cm long, 37 mm wide and 5 mm thick.
Its handle is made of antler and oak with iron fittings.

Hope you guys like it! :)

Tinker's folder
Tinker's folder

Ever since the dwarves popped out of the earth eons ago, everyone bound them with mining, metal-craft and jewelry. They are the masters of metal and lords of steel, burrowing in the murky dept without an end, searching and bringing precious raw materials to the surface. The finest and best of blades and weapons born under their sedulous hands, every piece passing the test of battle, keeping a razor edge against the odds and remaining immaculate, confuting time itself... blah... blah... blah... heard this one a thousand times already!
Everyone always brags about the same thing! Dwarves this, dwarves that... yeah, they are good, I get it, but still...what's a big deal? Eh, nothing but a bunch of hairy madmen, if you ask me, digging holes, hammering iron and inflating the price causeless, by not sharing all their knowledge. Greedy bastards!
But what about us? Who keeps count of our humble kind? When will we step out of the enslaving shadow of the dwarves and be taken seriously? I am pretty sick of the role of the little workshop helper, working under their hands, while they bath the shine of glory, brought by their blades and contraptions?

-suddenly the heavy ironing of the shop door started to scoop scaring away the listening crowd - two sooty cats - , and a moment latter, with his thundering voice a burst of laughter engulfed the smithy:

HAHHHHAHAHAHAH!!! So you want acknowledgment, lad? Aye?? Then move your flabby arse, and get those damn crates of coal into the warehouse!! - rumbled the dwarf with pretended rage, resting his eyes on a small piece of tinkering, left on the anvil in the sudden confusion, thinking somewhat proudly to himself:

-hmm... not bad for a gnome...

This little folder is entirely made of steel, with an enchanted gnomish mechanism ;)
The total length is 22.5 cm. The blade is a san mai, forged of bicycle chain with an 5160 edge, it is 10 cm long, 3.4 cm wide and 4.5 mm thick.
It is quite light for its construction, weighing only 230 grams.
One needs both hands to open and close it and it's completely child proof!

This year turned out to be a pretty good one after all! :)
I managed to make my little cottage livable for winter (we are still alive, and without any frostbites :D ) My son was born and he is healthy as a horse :) and I also succeeded to develop some new forging technics (new to me anyway)
So if 2014 will be only as half as good as 2013 was, I will be a happy man next Christmas too. :D

Keep your head up and have a happy new year!

Hello, I'm a blacksmith, from the heart of Transylvania.
I usually forge knives from my own damascus steel, and other edged weapons, like swords and spears.
I'm open for commissions ;)

Enjoy your stay :)

Nah, I'd say neat.
There tons of people making those.

Don't belittle yourself! There obviously is a lot of work and skill in that hook.
Besides, I know people who can't even tie they shoelace's alone ;)

Really gorgeous metalwork man, love it. I draw weapons a lot and have come to recognize superior stuff when I see it!

Man, I looked through your gallery, your work is amazing! Definetly watching you.
I would really love to comission something, if I'll ever have enough money for it (to be honest I'm so amazed I'd rather like to fly over and learn from you). Could you tell me roughly how much a viking seax would cost me?
hellize Featured By Owner Mar 9, 2016  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
I am happy that you like my stuff :)
Sure, I would gladly make you something, please feel free to buzz me whenever you think it's time.
The price differs by length and materials used. For example a small seax, with a 10 cm long carbon steel blade, would be 120 euro. While a large seax, with a 30 cm long, 200 layered damascus blade would be 280 euro.
With a thick leather sheath included of course.

Allright, thanks :)
I'll definetly look by, whenever I have enough money. Though that might be in a while, 'cause I'd love to have a damascus blade.
